The Food & Hospitality Asia Maldives (FHAM) 2026 exhibition officially opened today at the newly launched Manhattan Grand Hotel in Hulhumalé. Running through September 9, this three-day show will bring together global suppliers, resort operators, and hospitality leaders for a major business-to-business networking and culinary competition event.

Minister of State for Tourism, Dr. Abdulla Niyaz inaugurated the trade show. Key diplomatic and corporate figures in attendance included:

    • Mohamed Rizwi Hassen, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka
    • Vice Admiral (Retd.) Faisal Rasul Lodhi, High Commissioner of Pakistan
    • Dave Williams, U.S. Ambassador
    • Dewi Gustina Tobing, Indonesian Ambassador
    • Yahya Hassan Alqahtani, Saudi Arabian Ambassador
    • Ali Zuhair, Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC)
    • Amir Mansoor, Managing Director of Lily International

This year’s event marks one of FHAM’s most international gatherings, featuring more than 100 exhibitors across 22 countries, alongside four dedicated national pavilions. Designed as an end-to-end MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) platform.

This exhibition targets key decision-makers across the Maldivian tourism sector, including resorts, hotels, restaurants, guesthouses and other establishments.

The 2026 edition also serves as the public debut for the Manhattan Grand Hotel, highlighting expanding infrastructure for large-scale international business events in Hulhumalé.

Alongside the commercial exhibition, FHAM 2026 hosts several major industry skill competitions:

    • FHAM Culinary Challenge: Over 600 chefs representing more than 60 resorts across multiple culinary disciplines
    • Housekeeping Competition: Teams from 30 resorts
    • Mocktail Competition: 35 mixologists from over 30 resorts
    • Barista Championship: 20 coffee professionals representing 20 resorts

Exhibits and competitive heats will continue through September 9, concluding with the official FHAM 2026 Award Ceremony scheduled for September 10.
