    Tourist arrivals to Maldives observe 1,277.8% increment so far in Sept 2021

    According to the latest updates from Ministry of Tourism the tourist arrival to Maldives so far in September observed an increment of 1,277.8% when compared with the same period in 2020.

    Moreover, the ministry reports that the total tourist arrival to Maldives as of 15th September 2021 reached 817,387.

    Meanwhile the total tourist arrival to the island nation from 01st to 15th September reached 61,421 observing a 7.6% growth in comparison with the same period in 2019 where the arrival count stood at 57,079. In 2020, the total tourist arrival during this period stood at just 4,458.

    Furthermore, the average daily arrival to Maldives stood at 4,095 while the average duration of stay dropped to 8.6 in September compared to 9.6 in August.

    India maintains top source market position with a total arrival of 184,236 so far which is 22.5% of the total arrivals to the Maldives. Russia follows closely behind at second spot with 165,452 total arrivals so far, which is 20.2% of the total arrivals to the island nation.
