Maldives has participated in an online travel mart organized by the Japanese Association of Travel Agents (JATA).

The JATA 2nd Online Mart is organized by the Outbound Travel Promotion Division of JATA, and the event consists of seminars to be held from 16 to 17th November 2021 along with scheduled business meetings from 25th to 26th November.

Moreover, the online travel mart aims to connect travel industry professionals from Japan and overseas, providing the opportunity to exchange latest information on border openings, travel restrictions and trends, travel safety protocols as well as the latest updates on destinations attractions.

Meanwhile, Visit Maldives will be representing the island nation at the travel mart along with industry partners which include CrossRoads Maldives, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo and Grand Park Kodhipparu. Visit Maldives and the industry partners are expected to take part in the B2B meetings of the event.

Furthermore, the event will be used to promote Maldives as a safe haven for Japanese travelers following the lift-off of travel restrictions in the Asian country.

In addition to this, Maldives will aim to maintain and strengthen destination presence as well as to establish the country as a ‘top-of-the-mind’ destination for Japan travelers.
