    Tourist arrivals to Maldives in November observe 1.2% growth compared to 2019

    According to the latest statistical updates on the tourist arrivals to the Maldives, the Ministry of Tourism claims a growth on arrivals by 1.2% in November 2021 compared to the same period in 2019.

    Moreover, the statistics confirm that the total number of tourist arrivals from 01st until 17th November has reached 79,177 whereas, the arrival count reached 78,224 during the same period in 2019.

    Meanwhile, the arrival total in the review period also observed a significant growth of 345.0% when compared with the same period in 2020, where the arrival total stood at just 17,794.

    Furthermore, the total number of tourist arrivals to Maldives as of 17th November has reached 1,092,105 – which is already in excess of the tourist arrival target set by the country’s government for this year.

    The daily average of tourist arrival is currently at 4,657 while the average duration of stay is at 8.5-days.

    India maintains top rank as the strongest source market to Maldives with an arrival total of 244,928 so far which is 22.4% of the total tourist arrivals to the country. Russia has maintained second rank with an arrival total of 198,775 so far which is 18.2% of the total arrivals.

    Germany continues to be the third strongest source market with an arrival total of 78,237 (7.2%), while USA is at fourth spot with an arrival count of 44,916 (4.1%) and UK with an arrival total of 39,050 (3.6%) is currently the fifth strongest source market.
