Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has exhibited the island nation in Travmedia’s International Media Marketplace, held in Germany on 08th March 2022.

According to MMPRC, the main purpose of participating in the event was to “promote the Maldives as a top of the mind destination” and to update the German, Austrian, and Swiss travel trade with the latest information and travel guidelines about the island nation.

MMPRC had showcased the geographical advantages of the island nation allowing natural social distancing, which makes the Maldives one of the safest destinations for tourists.

In addition to this, MMPRC had marketed several of the country’s tourism industry products including resorts, guesthouses, homestays, hotels, safaris, and liveaboards.

The tourism promoter’s participation in the IMM event is in line with their “strategy to maintain destination presence” in the German market, as well as to efficiently promote various tourism segments to tourism travel professionals.

In 2021, a total of 94,784 travelers from Germany visited the Maldives which translates to 7.2% of the total tourist arrivals during the year. Meanwhile, the country remains one of the most consistent source markets to the island nation currently in fourth rank.

Furthermore, MMPRC had engaged in several marketing initiatives in 2021 targeted at the German market which included joint campaigns with Let’s Go Tours, Connosseur Circle, Imagine Magazine, and Bentley Club Magazine.

In addition to this, MMPRC held several events with Manta Reisen, Travel Impressions (American Express), TUI Germany and Austria, and Condor.
