Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has hosted a webinar to familiarize the Nordic market with Maldives tourism products and experiences.

Under the initiative, the tourism promoter organized and held a one-hour long webinar titled “Maldives – Local Islands, Local Experiences” targeting the Swedish, Danish, and Norway markets.

The webinar was part of a three-session series conducted by MMPRC to focused to the Nordic markets, under the tourism promoter’s strategy to increase brand awareness, popularity and destination momentum.

MMPRC was accompanied by Secret Paradise, Angsana Velavaru, and Qatar Airways in the webinar. Information on the recent ease of Covid-19 restrictions were shared along with a destination presentation, and presentations of tourist properties. In addition to this, the airline partner had provided a presentation as well.

The session was followed by a Q&A session, and a raffle was drawn among the participants from which a lucky winner was presented with a free holiday to the Maldives sponsored by Angsana Velavaru.

MMPRC notes that the Nordic market was a promising segment with sustained increase in arrival figures during the most recent years. In 2021, the Maldives welcomed a total of 18,507 tourists from Nordic markets whereas in 2022, the island nation has already greeted 9,754 travelers from the region already.
