Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is taking part in the SATTE 2022 in a bid to enhance brand visibility in the Indian market.

The travel trade fair which launched on Wednesday, 18th May will run until Friday, 20th May 2022 in Delhi. The premier tourism promoter of the Maldives is taking part in the event alongside 33 industry partners.

SATTE, considered South Asia’s leading business-to-business exhibition held for the travel and tourism trade professionals that provide one of the largest platforms for exhibitors and visitors including international and domestic buyers to network, connect and seek prospective investment opportunities.

MMPRC is marketing Maldivian tourism products which includes tourist resorts, hotels, guesthouses and liveaboards. Additionally,  the promoter will be marketing the archipelago’s tourism for its safety measures and unique geography providing “ultimate safety, seclusion, and privacy for visitors.”

Furthermore, MMPRC is taking part in the event as part of its marketing strategy for the Indian market since it has been one of the major source markets to the island nation, especially during the past two years when it had been the largest tourist market.

In 2021, Ministry of Tourism reported a total of 278,740 travelers from India which was a market share of 22.6% in annual terms while in 2020 arrivals from India stood at 62,960 despite Covid-19 pandemic’s prevalence. Meanwhile, Indian market is the third strongest market to the Maldives so far in 2022.
