Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) participated at the ITB Asia 2022, held from 19th to 21st October 2022.

MMPRC took part in the travel trade fair along with 18 industry partners. The event was held at Sands Expo & Convention Center, Singapore.

The top tourism promoter maintained destination presence of Maldives, provided latest information to the South East Asian markets, and networked with industry partners.

ITB Asia is one of the region’s leading B2B travel trade shows. The event is designed with Asia Pacific travel at the forefront. The fair featured thousands of exhibitors from Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Middle-East. Exhibitors ranged from destinations, airlines, airports, hotels and resorts. Other exhibitors included theme parks and attractions as well.

MMPRC marketed Maldives as a preferred holiday destination. The promoter and industry partners showcased various tourism products – including resorts, hotels, guesthouses and liveaboards – at the fair.

Moreover, MMPRC’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed took part in a panel discussion, titled “Destination Recoveries.” He took part in the session alongside Japan National Tourism Organization. Mr. Mohamed spoke about the emergence of digital campaigns, virtual and hybrid events, and shifting traveler trends.

South East Asian markets are slowly taking major travel shares to the Maldives. From January to September 2022, Maldives welcomed 23,080 travelers from the region.
