    President Solih confers National Awards of Honor, National Awards of Recognition

    President confers National Awards of Honor and National Awards of Recognition to 32 recipients

    President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih conferred the National Award of Honor to 10 recipients, and the National Award of Recognition to 22 recipients.

    The recipients were presented with the honors at the official ceremony held at Dharubaaru last Thursday, 20th October, to confer this year’s National Awards. The recipients of the National Award of Honor received commemorative shields and badges, while the recipients of the National Award of Recognition received commemorative plaques from Maldives President.

    The National Awards Committee, constituted by the President to determine the recipients for the prestigious award, selected the recipients.

    Recipients who received the National Award of Honor are;

    1. Mr. Mohamed Shahid Haleem – for outstanding contributions in the field of Dhivehi Language and Literature
    2. Mr. Hassan Shakir Mohamed – for outstanding contributions in the field of Dhivehi Language and Literature
    3. Mr. Abdulla – for perseverance to sustain the traditional and cultural practice, especially in Toddy Tapping
    4. Dr. Ahmed Anwar – for outstanding service and expert contribution to the development and growth of the Education Sector
    5. Mr. Ahmed Nashid – for pioneering initiatives and outstanding service in development and expansion of private Health Care sector
    6. Mr. Mohamed Zahir – for outstanding service to protecting the environment and raising public awareness
    7. Ms. Zareena Ahmed Didi – for longstanding social service, especially in the field of health
    8. Mr. Ahmed Ali Maniku – for outstanding contribution and diligent efforts to build and foster the local Scouts Movement
    9. Mr. Mohamed Salih – for outstanding service in the development, expansion and diversification of trade and economy
    10. Ms. Abidha Ismail Ali – for longstanding service in Arts and Crafts

    The recipients who received the National Award of Recognition are;

    • Qari Mohamed Waheed – for remarkable efforts to promote Quranic studies and recitation
    • Sheikh Ilyas Hussain – for excellent and continued efforts to promote religious awareness
    • Dr. Ali Zahir – for excellent and continued efforts to promote religious awareness
    • Mr. Ibrahim Mamdhooh – for promoting and showcasing traditional Maldivian music and dance
    • Mr. Ali Naseer – for innovative and successful methods of teaching
    • Maldives Autism Association – for exceptional service in the field of special needs education and promoting public awareness
    • Ms. Aishath Zaeema – for contribution in strengthening special needs education and awareness raising
    • Uza. Mariyam Shunana – for contribution to promoting legal literacy and pro-bono legal service
    • Mr. Ibrahim Shahid – for excellent and continued efforts in promoting tourism
    • Ms. Mariyam Noordeen – for remarkable efforts to build and foster local capacities and skills in tourism and hospitality industry
    • Mr. Abdulla Ali – for commitment and dedication to volunteerism
    • Mr. Ali Yoosuf – for humanitarian service as a dedicated blood donor
    • Muni Enterprises Private Limited – for developing and expanding commerce and industry
    • Mr. Adheel Ismail – for introducing and promoting new enterprises
    • Ms. Joodhy Khalid – for remarkable and continued efforts to promote arts and craftsmanship especially in culinary skills
    • Mr. Fahd Faiz – for excellent efforts to promote recreational diving
    • Ms. Aishath Ibrahim – for remarkable efforts to build local skills in hair care and beauty service
    • Mr. Mohamed Hamdhoon – for remarkable efforts to promote responsible journalism and reporting
    • Sergeant Major Ismail Madhi – for dedicated service as a professional shooting instructor
    • Mr. Mohamed Jaushan Shareef – for exceptional service as a sports lawyer
    • D Tune Band – for unwavering efforts to promote and showcase music and singing
    • Mr. Hassan Farhan Mohamed – for remarkable efforts to empowering and promoting youth leadership through volunteerism

    President Solih had congratulated the all the recipients who won the awards. The National Awards are conferred annually to recognize and encourage the efforts of individuals and organizations that contribute to the nation’s development.
