Ooredoo Maldives’ recently held “Color Run” upgrade, “Fun Run” was well received by participants.
This is also the first such community run organized by Ooredoo Maldives since the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
According to Ooredoo Maldives, more than 5,000 runners took to the streets at Hulhumale’ on Friday, 23 December. The five kilometer run saw several high-profile athletes from the Maldives joining enthusiastic runners as well.
The run was kicked off with a selfie taken by Maldives Vice President Faisal Naseem alongside Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Technology Aminath Shauna. The two were joined in kicking off the run by Ooredoo Maldives’ Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Khalid Al-Hamadi and the company’s Chief Commercial Officer Hussain Niyaz.
Alongside the run, entertainment numbers including music performance, water and foam parties and dry colors were packed to create a colorful evening.
Speaking about the event, Al-Hamadi said that Ooredoo Maldives’ aim for the “Fun Run” was to provide a fun-filled event for families and loved ones to come together, enjoy and conclude the year on a colorful note. Additional to this, the “Fun Run” also aims on promoting healthy and active lifestyles among the communities.
