    Tourist arrivals exceed 220k, increases by 31.1%

    Tourist arrivals to the Maldives have exceeded 220,574 as of 08th February 2023.

    According to the Ministry of Tourism in their latest update, tourist arrivals by the review date observed a 31.1% increment compared to 2022. Tourist arrivals by the same period in 2022 stood at just 168,239 while in 2021 it was at 116,881.

    Total tourist arrivals from 01st to 08th February is at 48,038 which is a 31.7% increment. In the same period last year, tourist arrivals stood at 36,474 and in 2021 it was at 24,778.

    The daily arrival average in January stood at 5,566 and so far in February, it is at 6,005. The annual daily arrival average is now at 5,656. The average duration of stay in January is at 8.1 days while the figure remains unchanged so far in February as well, making the annual average duration of stay the same as well.
