The third-largest record label in the world, US-based Warner Music, has acquired the distribution rights to Manta Air’s theme song, “Wind Walker”.

The theme track is performed by local band The Kabans which also features Maldivian Idol winner Mariyam Maeesha. The track was produced by the band’s Ahmed Faizan and written by Naufal Naseem.

This also marks the first time Warner Music has acquired distribution rights to a Maldivian song.

The Kabans is currently working on their first studio album, which will also be distributed by Warner Music.

Speaking about this remarkable achievement, the band’s member Ahmed ‘Kokko’ Arshad spoke about the long journey to reach to their position, adding it was the culmination of their dedication.

“This is an opportunity of a lifetime! We couldn’t be more excited about this! It’s been a long journey to get here, but we know that this is only the beginning. We are looking forward to taking our music to the next level and making the world our audience. A special thanks goes out to Manta Air and Pulse Hotels for believing in us and opening this fantastic opportunity for us,” Arshad said.

Moreover, the Director of Digital Technology and Marketing of Pulse Hotels and Resorts, Shafraz Hafiz said that their collaboration with Manta Air is aimed to create opportunities for local talents, and promote the acts in the international arena.

The Kabans was also the first local band selected this year to perform at the ITB Berlin fair, which is scheduled from 7th to 8th March.
