The Ministry of Higher Education announced that it has reopened bidding for interested contractors to develop a TIVET Center in Fuvahmulah City.

The project part of the current administration’s efforts to establish tertiary academic and training facilities across the Maldives. The ministry confirmed that the TIVET Center project will follow a public-private partnership with the contractor required to fund the project.

The center will provide courses in environmental technology, technical and industrial fields along with vocational trainings.

The TIVET Center will be developed on a 30,000-square-foot plot leased for 50 years.

Besides establishing the center, the ministry said that the contractor will receive opportunities to establish their own commercial activities on the same ground.

Moreover, the ministry added that while the center’s design will be issued by them, the developer will be given the option to alter design changes with the ministry’s approval.

The TIVET Center will feature classrooms, a multi-purpose hall, an ICT laboratory, an administrative zone, a staff room, an auditorium and a meeting room, a study room, and a library as well.

In addition to these facilities, the center will also feature various sports and recreational features.

Interested bidders are required to submit the bid proposals before 13:00hrs on 27th April 2023.
