The Maldives on Sunday, July 16, welcomed the country’s one millionth tourist arrival for 2023.
This year’s millionth arrival was Anton Pavlov, a British national who arrived on British Airways flight BA061 on Sunday morning.
Upon arrival, Pavlov and his family was escorted to the event area with a cultural performance and were welcomed by senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), and Maldives Immigration.
While the Maldives has achieved its millionth arrival target in July this year, it had achieved the target in August last year; indicating strong arrival momentum to the Maldives in 2023.
The one millionth tourist to the Maldives received special gift packs from the ministry, MMPRC, MACL and Maldives Immigration from the tourism industry to commemorate the momentous occasion.
