Hotelier Maldives announces revamped GM Forum through new strategic partnership

Hotelier Maldives, the leading tourism and hospitality publication in the Maldives, announced the revamped General Managers (GM) Forum, with this year’s seventh edition, originally scheduled for September, now moved to October 19, 2023.

The organizer pushed the forum back in light of the presidential election slated for September 9, 2023.

This year’s forum will be held at the picturesque Bandos Maldives, regarded as one of the leading MICE destinations in the Maldives and in the South Asian region.

Since inauguration in 2016, the GM Forum has been a sought-after platform for over 100 general managers and hoteliers to gather, discuss industry-related problems, exchange ideas, and propose solutions.

The seventh edition of the forum will be introducing an overarching theme for each year, with keynotes, panels, and presentations under various subtopics linked to the main theme.

This year’s theme for the forum is “Innovation and Technology for Sustainability”, which reflects the rise in new tech, fast-paced changes in the world, and the rising number of eco-conscious travelers.

The revamped GM Forum will also offer more networking opportunities for participants. GMs and hoteliers will now have the chance to interact with key stakeholders from the government and the industry, away from the formal conference setting.

The changes follow a strategic partnership between Hotelier Maldives and Perspective Pvt Ltd, and Maldives Promotion House Pvt Ltd.

“We are excited about the changes we’ve made to the GM Forum. We believe that the new format will provide a fresh perspective and stimulate meaningful discussions on the future of Maldives’ tourism and hospitality,” said Ali Naafiz, the Editor of Hotelier Maldives.
