    Russia reclaims second spot, annual arrivals to the Maldives close to hitting 800,000

    Tourist arrivals to the Maldives in annual terms have reached 794,109; a 12.3% increase compared to the same period last year.

    According to the Ministry of Tourism, tourist arrivals for the same period last year stood at 707,306.

    Russia has meanwhile, reclaimed its second spot from United Kingdom, which has slipped to third spot. China remains unchallenged at the top place with close to 90,000 arrivals so far.

    • January – 192, 365
    • February – 212,392
    • March – 194,227
    • April – 168,647

    Arrivals from May 01 to 04, 2024 have reached 21,458 from 19,021 in the same duration in 2023; indicating a 12.8% increase this year.
