The Maldives Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal has highlighted the strong relationship between the Maldives and China at the ITB China 2024 trade fair.

The minister made this statement while speaking at the Maldives Media Meet hosted by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) on the sidelines of the ITB China in Shanghai, China.

Minister Faisal stressed China’s position as the top-ranked tourism market to the Maldives, and noted the importance of further strengthening connectivity through additional direct flights from various regions in China.

“The recent launch of direct flights from Fujian is a significant step forward, and we are committed to establishing more such connections to facilitate travel for Chinese tourists,” Minister Faisal said.

“The Maldives offers something for every traveler. Whether you seek luxury, a unique venue for your next conference, or an immersive cultural experience, our islands ready to welcome you.”

The minister concluded his remarks affirming the importance of the Maldives-China partnership for tourism growth, cultural exchanges, and regional stability.
