Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has opened registration for new slots for the public to view the Vinares housing flats developed in Hulhumale’ Phase II. HDC made the announcement to facilitate the growing public demand to view the currently developed housing flats while a total of over 11,000 individuals have already registered during the initial announcement. State Trading Organization (STO) announces its plan to expand STO People’s Choice supermarket to facilitate vendor slots for local businesses. The supermarket was recently refurbished as a contemporary general sales mall with increased space and product showcasing. The library of Shaviyani atoll Bilehffahi School has been developed with the support of the Community Fund of Bank of Maldives (BML). Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has unveiled 15 new additions to its RTL Bus network. The latest update from Ministry of Finance reveals state has spent a cumulative total of MVR15,307.4 million (MVR15.3 billion) so far in 2022 from its approved budget. On the other hand, earnings are comparatively slower with a cumulative total of MVR11,754.3 million (MVR11.8 billion) inclusive of foreign grants. State’s spending pattern indicates 75% of the total had been directed on recurrent needs and the remaining 25% on capital expenditure. Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Mr. Mohamed Aslam confirms his respective ministry’s decision to announce application for land plot issuance from Greater Male’ region by late June. Mr. Aslam made the confirmation during Wednesday’s session of the parliament, and noted that the ministry will open application window for Male’ residents in accordance with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s pledge.
