Male’ City Council has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dutch Docklands International over the floating city project in the island nation. The Maldives Floating City, is a floating community island that will be constructed in a lagoon not far off from Maldives capital Male’ City; accessible via a speedboat transfer. State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has filed an official case with the Maldives Police Service regarding its recent ransomware attack. The utility provider has requested from the local law enforcement department to investigate the recent attack on STELCO’s servers that rendered several of the utility provider’s services in limbo. The Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Environment Ms. Aminath Shauna has claimed the government expenditure on oil purchases will be greatly reduced before the end of current presidential term. According to the minister, by the time President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s first presidential term concludes, the government will have managed to save over MVR225 million in oil purchases to the country.
