Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Maldives confirm successful vaccination of over 278,000 individuals so far, against the Covid-19 virus.
As per the latest statistical updates from the authority, a total of 278,469 residing in Maldives had received the second dose of the vaccination against the viral contagion – the update was dated 04th August, Wednesday of the previous week.
Moreover, the health authority confirm a total of 326,339 people receiving their first dose of the vaccine.
A significant amount of individuals working in the tourism industry of Maldives are among those who have received full vaccination. Meanwhile, Ministry of Tourism has commenced the “I’m Vaccinated” Campaign to promote vaccination among individuals employed in the tourism industry.
Reports confirm that Maldives aims to fully vaccinate the entire tourism sector under the campaign in order to boost tourist arrivals and power the gradually recovering economy.
Furthermore, the state plans on a new campaign offering vaccination to travelers under “Visit, Vaccinate, Vacation” initiative once all the residents in Maldives have received full vaccination.
The island nation is now open to all international travelers without any known limitations while by 03rd August the total tourist arrival was reported over 626,000.
