The Maldives Association of Yacht Agency (MAYA) announced that nine cruise liners are expected to arrive in the Maldives throughout 2023.
The cruise liners will reportedly bring an approximate total of 12,000 travelers. The vessels will be docking at Male’ City, Addu City and Haa Alif atoll.

- 23rd January: MS Artania | Docking in Male’, Passenger Capacity: 1,280
- 02nd February: MS Oceania Nautica | Docking in Male’, Passenger Capacity: 684
- 04th February: MS Costa Deliziosa | Docking in Male’, Passenger Capacity: 2,826
- 17th March: MS Silver Shadow | Docking in Addu City, Passenger Capacity: 388
- 07th April: MS Seven Seas Mariner | Docking in Male’, Passenger Capacity: 700
- 06th November: MS AIDAbella | Docking in Male’, Passenger Capacity: 2,050
- 01st December: MS Vasco da Gama Nicko | Docking in Male’, Passenger Capacity: 1,512
- 16th and 18th December: MS Fred Olsen Bolette | Docking in Haa Alif on 16th and Addu on 18th, Passenger Capacity: 1,400
Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom said cruise liner industry is a major focus of the current government, for the Maldivian tourism and economic sectors.
Cruise liners bring travelers, who do not book stays in resorts or hotels, but rather visit the local islands for island-hopping, sightseeing and to purchase souvenirs. According to the minister, Maldives can offer appealing ways for cruise liner travelers to spend money while in the country.
