The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) received the prestigious ‘Rehendhi Award’ for promoting gender mainstreaming and women empowerment in the institutional category.
The Chief Executive Officer of MTCC Adam Azim received the award at the hands of Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the official hosted by the Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services on Monday evening.
The award serves as a milestone for the company’s journey towards gender equality and women’s empowerment, while the company has “miles to travel” in terms of gender mainstreaming and women’s empowerment, said MTCC.
MTCC further affirmed that such a recognition motivates and commits the company to work “together will all stakeholders to make the country fair and harmonious in terms of gender balance.”
The transport and contracting company thanked the Minister of Gender, Family, and Social Services Aishath Mohamed Didi and the Rehendhi Award panel of judges for the recognition.
