Maldives government revenue collection stood at a total of MVR3.39 billion by the end of the second quarter of 2021. Moreover, Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) reports the total collection for the period is a 238.7% increment in comparison with the corresponding quarter of 2020. In addition to this, the collected total revenue during the review quarter has been a 32.0% improvement over initial forecasts for the period as well. Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has reported the correct developmental progress of the Velana International Airport expansion project. Earlier, on 04th August a few of Chinese local news outlets had incorrectly reported on BUCG, the contracted party, fully completing the entire development of VIA’s new seaplane terminal.
