Spotify Rolls Out Fresh Features to Give You Total Control Over Your Music Experience

Music discovery on Spotify is getting smarter, more personal, and a whole lot more fun. The audio-streaming giant has just announced a new wave of updates and features that are now rolling out gradually — all designed to give users, especially Premium subscribers, more power over how they explore and enjoy their favorite tracks.

From upgraded playlist tools to smarter song suggestions and new customization options, Spotify’s latest move is all about putting listeners in the driver’s seat of their musical journey.

    Smarter Sessions, Seamless Control

Premium users can look forward to a revamped Queue experience. The familiar three lines at the bottom of the Now Playing screen have been redesigned for easier navigation and control. Users can now tweak settings like Shuffle, Smart Shuffle, Repeat, and even set a Sleep Timer with just a few taps. Spotify is also introducing visibility into the songs it recommends after your current queue ends — allowing you to keep what fits and skip what doesn’t. Want full control? You can now easily toggle off Autoplay and Smart Shuffle in your settings.

New Ways to Hit Pause on Unwanted Tracks

Spotify is also making it easier to avoid songs that don’t match your current mood. The updated Hide button now works more intuitively, ensuring that once you hide a song in a playlist, it stays hidden across all your devices.

Additionally, the brand-new Snooze feature — currently being tested for Premium users — gives listeners the option to temporarily remove a track from recommendations for 30 days. It’s the perfect middle ground between “never again” and “just not right now.”

    Playlist Creation, Now Supercharged

The latest mobile tools make playlist building and editing simpler than ever. At the top of every playlist, users will now find quick-access buttons to Add, Sort, and Edit — letting them update titles, reorder tracks, and even create custom cover art with ease.

In an exciting twist for music lovers in select countries — including the U.S., U.K., Australia, and more — Spotify now allows users to filter their Liked Songs by genre and instantly “turn into a playlist,” offering a personalized and effortless way to organize your favorites.

Curate, Collaborate, and Create With Friends

Spotify is also simplifying collaboration and creativity. A new Create button (“+”) in the bottom-right corner of the mobile app now lets users instantly start a new playlist, join a Blend, or collaborate with friends. Premium users in supported regions can even use this button to launch Jam sessions for real-time group listening, or dive into AI Playlist, which transforms your most creative ideas into curated playlists.

And with Spotify expanding AI Playlist to more markets, even more users worldwide will have access to these next-gen curation tools.

Whether you’re fine-tuning your next party playlist, cutting out a song that overstayed its welcome, or exploring fresh tracks from Spotify’s smart recommendations — the music platform’s latest update is here to make sure your listening experience is uniquely yours.
