The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) has partnered with Maldivian – the national airline of the country – to strengthen collaboration in enhancing equitable tourism development.

MMPRC and Maldivian signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) towards this new partnership, which was signed by the tourism board’s CEO and Managing Director, Ibrahim Shiuree, and the national airline’s Managing Director, Ibrahim Iyas earlier on August 15, 2024.

The partnership aims to combine the strengths of both organizations to create “innovative marketing campaigns” and tourism promotion initiative to attract visitors from around the world. Through joint-efforts, the organizations will focus on business-to-consumer (B2C) marketing, including branded advertisements, promotional activities, and global campaigns.

“Our partnership with Maldivian is an exciting venture to promote the Maldives,” said Shiuree, who added, “This collaboration will enable us to reach a wider audience and showcase the unparalleled beauty and diversity of our islands. By working together, we aim to create unforgettable experiences for visitors and promote sustainable tourism throughout the nation.”

Maldivian’s MD highlighted that the partnership marks a significant milestone in their joint mission to elevate the Maldives as a premier global travel destination.

“Through this collaboration, we will enhance the travel experience, promote sustainable tourism, and drive economic growth. Our vision extends beyond this agreement. We are excited to expand our horizons, particularly with our upcoming A330 aircraft, enabling us to establish direct connections to China and beyond,” Iyas said.
