    Ukulhas harbor project observes 62% progress

    MTCC reports on latest updates of Ukulhas harbor development project

    Saturday, 14th August – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) reports on the latest updates of Alif Alif Ukulhas harbor development project.

    As per the contractor, they are currently executing the construction of both the quay wall and the jetty structure which fall under the project scope while the overall project observed 62% progress.

    Moreover, MTCC had affirmed on completing the installation of precast concrete blocks required for the quay wall structure prior to the actual structure’s construction. Furthermore, the contractor is executing the dredging operations for the harbor basin, which is currently at 57% completion.

    The project scope include, besides the dredging and excavation operations which would span 19,630 cubic meters, the construction of a 31 meter breakwater along with the quay wall and jetty which would measure 136 meters and 138.73 meters respectively.

    In addition to this, MTCC will install a harbor pavement spanning 580 square meters. Meanwhile, the project valuation is a total of MVR19.9 million as reported by the contractor.
