The Bank of Maldives (BML) has integrated Mastercard and Visa card payments for Raajje Transport Link (RTL) bus routes in Male’, operated by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

BML said passengers using the RTL Male’ City bus networks can pay for fares using the contactless Mastercard and Visa cards, and other cards issued by the bank.

While card payment services have been introduced, bus and ferry tickets are available for purchase on the RTL mobile application.

“Our more than 300,000 customers can now use their BML debit or credit cards to make top-and-go payments easily and securely on the RTL network. We will also continue to collaborate with our partners to introduce additional payment methods,” BML CEO Karl Stumke said.

“We are grateful to our partners BML and Mastercard for the immense support and assistance provided in the integration of contactless Mastercard and Visa debit and credit card payments into our RTL bus service,” Adam Azim, the MTCC CEO said. “This is an essential step for us in making our service more easily accessible and convenient to the public”.

MTCC assured it will continue with efforts to enhance service excellence. The corporation will enhance the service standards by way of incorporating a wide array of convenient payment options.
